Work Week This is a ten-month (175-day) faculty position eligible for tenure after the fourth year of successful employment.
Minimum Salary: $69,813.80 annually
Maximum Salary: $120,844.64 annually (maximum entry $85,525.04 per year)

Basic Function

Bakersfield College is seeking dedicated, experienced, and motivated individuals to provide leadership, engagement, and discipline expertise in continuing to move the program forward in innovative ways. As a full time faculty member at Bakersfield College, successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence.

The successful candidate for the Industrial Automation position will have relevant industrial experience and/or focused academic study necessary to provide instruction in a full range of upper and lower division technical courses including, but not limited to: Programmable Logic Controllers; Industrial Automation Networks and Measurement; Control Systems Design, Integration and Implementation; Human-Machine Interface (HMI); Project Management and Budgeting; Quality Assurance; or Facilities Planning and Operations. The assignment will be made based on the successful applicant’s experience, background, and institutional need.

This assignment may include teaching courses at various locations, different times, and with different modalities. Bakersfield College offers college courses in the greater Bakersfield area, rural communities, correctional facilities and high schools using the following modalities: traditional, face-to-face, online and interactive broadcasts.

Other Duties Include:

Participation in student recruitment and articulation, transfer programs; maintaining subject matter currency; developing and revising curriculum; using computer and technology; assessment of program learning outcomes; collegial participation in departmental, college and discipline-specific professional activities.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in any field of engineering,

OR-Master’s degree in any field in engineering technology,

OR-Master’s degree in Industrial Technology,

OR-Master’s degree in any field related to Industrial Automation,

OR-Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology AND a master’s degree in any discipline AND six (6) years of industry work experience;

AND- A demonstrated sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.

Note:- Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an evaluation service.
